Setting off from Barnegat, Tommyboy Fishing Charters is ideally located to fish the inshore bays, inlets, and backwaters of the New Jersey bays protected by its many jetties and islands from the Atlantic. They’re also in a prime position to start an ocean fishing excursion, and Captain Thomas Walsh can take you up to 25 miles offshore. With over 25 years of experience in the region, he’s just the man to guide these exciting tours.
Trips take place aboard a 26’ Pursuit center console, designed to easily navigate the shallow backwaters, and drift across the bumpy open ocean. Powered by twin 200 HP Suzuki engines, it reaches speeds of up to 35 knots, getting you to the hottest spots as quickly as possible. She’s been equipped with your comfort and safety in mind, with a toilet, an ice box for your snacks and drinks, and all safety equipment needed.
In this part of the world, there’s one fish that stands out above the rest, the Striped Bass. On all tours you’ll head out hoping to catch a boatload of these exciting, not to mention tasty creatures. You’ll be handed rods, reels, tackle, and lures to cast with, with live bait also waiting for you aboard. On trips further offshore, you’ll get the chance to hunt for some bigger game fish, but whichever trip you choose, you’re in for an unforgettable day.
Children over 7 years old are welcome on board and will be provided with appropriate life jackets. Capt. Tom is an easy-going, fun-loving captain, who is passionate about fishing, and wants to see everyone enjoy themselves. Therefore, alcohol is permitted aboard, but hard liquor is not. The thrill of fishing will grip you, as you gaze at the open ocean and the magnificent skyline behind. Tommyboy Fishing Charters will blow your mind!

10 Hour Trip – Offshore Fishing $1,750 starts at 5:00 AM
On this offshore trip, you’ll be going up to 50 miles out of the Barnegat Inlet to fish for pelagics moving inshore through the underwater canyons. Among the species you’ll be targeting are Wahoo, Bluefin Tuna and Mahi-Mahi. Look back at the New Jersey and New York skyline as you’ve never seen it before, while trolling, jigging, spinning, or popping to reel in a big one. This trip is for a maximum of 3 anglers.
BAY, BACK BAY, AND INLET TRIPS AM & PM TRIPS
Bay, Back Bay, and inlet trips prices are based on up to 3 people.

4 Hour Trip – Bay/Nearshore (AM) $550.00 4 hour trip, starts at 6:00 AM
Off the New Jersey coastline, protected by a series of jetties and islands, you’ll get to fish either the bay or along the beach for species such as Summer Flounder, Striped Bass, Bluefish and Weakfish. These fish are great fun, and the Bass is a great meal too, so make the most of this opportunity to hook some onboard and take them home.
FALL STRIPED BASS
This is a full-day trip where you’ll be targeting the migrating Striped Bass in the bay and in the ocean. You’ll be using a variety of techniques to get you hooked up, such as trolling, top-water plugging, jigging, and live bait. This is a trip for a maximum of 3 anglers.
The 6-hour trip starts at 6:30 AM

Head out up to 15 miles out of the Barnegat Inlet and into the Atlantic Ocean on this offshore trip. You’ll be bottom fishing dozens of underwater wrecks and reefs focusing on species such as Ling, Black Seabass, Fluke, Triggerfish, Bluefish and more. Get out on the open waters and look back at the New Jersey and New York coast and skyline while fishing these rich waters.

INFORMATION:
Tommy Boy Fishing Charters supplies all tackle, rods, and reels, as well as bait.
Captain Tom will “recommend” the best departure time for the ultimate fishing experience; however, it’s your trip… so you decide what’s best for you!
If Digital Photos are taken by Captain and/or mate to record your experience they will be emailed at no charge. Photos may be used in fishing reports, websites, social media sites, advertising, etc… said pictures become the property of Tommy Boy Fishing.
Upon request, only Captain Tom and/or Mate will professionally clean and bag your catch for you.

Our Policies
A $100.00 deposit is required to book a date.
Deposits are non-refundable: unless the trip is cancelled at least 10 days in advance and can be rebooked with another party.
Trips cancelled by Captain Tom due to weather can be rescheduled to a mutually agreeable date.
Inshore ocean trips are subject to sea and weather conditions and may be shortened or cancelled at Captain Tom’s discretion.
The Balance is due in Cash only the day of the trip.
